Boku Sensei Phase 1
I bought the lumber today to start on my first tameshigiri stand. Bushey Sensei picked out the perfect name: boku sensei (æšć ç) which means wooden sensei. I decided to go for a simpler cutting stand without the interlocking legs... mainly because I do not have the tools or skills to do it at this time. Here are the pictures of my progress:
Just a note for anyone who wants to build a cutting stand. It is probably a good idea to get a jigsaw or a table saw to cut the wood. I spent over two hours today cutting down the 2x4 legs and the 4x4 base with a hacksaw... yes a hacksaw. It seriously feels like I have done Sekiguchi Sensei's torture exercises all day.
I will drill the dowel rod hole tomorrow and hopefully stain the entire stand ebony. Look forward for more pics tomorrow.
