I got an email today showing a new Paul Chen sword. It was an odachi so it peaked my interest. You can check out the sword at casiberia.com.

It's overall length is 67 inches and nagasa is 49 inches and. The blade comes with tachi mounts and a nice metal kojiri. It has a full nagako as well, which means it will be safe to use for cutting. I figured Gary would be interested in taking a look at it since he is always in the market for nodachi.

I would like to try test cutting with one. Some places already list it for $865, which is not bad at all for a 49 inch shinken.

I am still working on the dojo website (yeah, I know... but the design is already done!) and it should be up very soon. In the mean time, you can check out the official youtube channel. It only has one video up so far, but more will come. An official flickr account will also be setup for images, but I need to get dojo images first.

Hopefully my next update will have a launched dojo site for you all to see.

Today I met with the Austin Sports Center and secured dojo space and time. We will be meeting every Thursday from 7pm-8pm at the Austin Sports Center (North Austin / Cedar Park location).

Here is the best news: 3000sqft and 23 foot ceilings. Yes, 23 foot. I am really happy with how everything turned out and look forward to teaching Iaijutsu.
